About Greg brian, lmft
Transpersonal therapy - trusting and healing through your own inner guidance
The term "transpersonal" means "beyond the personal" or "beyond the mask". It aims to help individuals discover a deeper, more enduring sense of self that transcends their everyday ego or conditioned persona. It refers to an inner knowing and potential for growth and healing that all humans, regardless of history, circumstances, and beliefs have access to. Helping clients to integrate their own unique transpersonal experience is foundational to the healing work that is possible via cutting edge therapeutic protocols that I offer such as Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Are you ready to awaken to a new path towards healing, wholeness and contentment?
Why Choose greg brian, lmft?
I am a CA and Utah State Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice in Salt Lake City. I received my Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology, with a specialization in Transpersonal Psychology, from the John F. Kennedy University School of Holistic Studies in Pleasant Hill, CA. With over 25 years of counseling experiences that have included working as a Substance Abuse Counselor, School Counselor, and Foster Family Social Worker, I bring a variety of perspectives and influences to my therapeutic style. I work with clients from diverse ethnic backgrounds on a variety of issues, including depression and anxiety, substance abuse, communication and parenting skills, relationship challenges, the grief process, life transitions, and self-acceptance. My expertise includes working effectively with individual adults as well as with couples. I teach couples healthy communication, listening, and empathy skills in order to facilitate understanding, healing, and compassion in their relationship. I instruct parents on effective parenting skills, and firm, but fair, discipline strategies. I am also a trained EMDR practitioner. Utilizing this technique, I help clients move beyond the painful grip of past trauma, abuse, abandonment, and attachment deficits. I also recognize that regular meditation/mindfulness practices can help clients to be more conscious, present, and actively involved in their lives. When I assist clients in cultivating mindfulness, I help them to uncover their own deep inner guidance. By directly experiencing this guidance, my clients access the source of their own healing, peace, and serenity.
It's time to walk out of the shadows into the light!
