Isaac Shapiro, like Gangaji, had a powerful illumination, while sitting with Papaji in India. He was instructed by his teacher to hold satsang throughout the world in service to Truth. H. W. L. Poonja, or (as he was, and is, affectionately referred to by his devotees) Papaji, was a realized Indian master, who had a profound effect on many Western spiritual seekers. Although he passed from life in 1997, he continues to exert a strong influence on the Western experience of Nonduality through the devotees who teach with his blessing. Ramana Maharshi was one of the greatest Indian sages of the twentieth century. As the teacher of H. W. L.
