Psychotherapy
from a Transpersonal perspective, as I practice it, is based on
the Nondual Wisdom traditions contained in spiritual systems such
as Zen (Buddhism), Advaita Vedanta (Hinduism), and Taoism. It
has also been articulated in the transcendental writings of Christian
mystics such as Meister Eckhart, and the Sufi mystic/poet Jalaluddin
Rumi.

Adyashanti is a Nondual spiritual teacher who comes from the Zen Buddhist tradition. He was asked by his Zen teacher to teach his personal experience of Truth and Freedom to the public. He does this in a clear, straightforward manner during frequent satsangs, or meetings in Truth, throughout the Bay Area and the Western U.S. His website gives a full schedule of events, including retreats and intensives, as well as provide samples of his writings and teachings.
Gangaji is steeped in the Nondual Advaita Vedanta tradition of Hinduism. She was asked by her Indian guru, H. W. L. Poonja (Papaji), to transmit the flame of Truth to the West. She resides in Marin County, CA, where she gives regular satsangs and holds retreats. Her spiritual lineage can be traced to the esteemed Indian sage Ramana Maharshi. Eckhart Tolle had a spontaneous, life-altering spiritual awakening in the midst of a major depressive episode. His gift to the world of Nondual Wisdom is the powerful, yet simply written book entitled The Power of Now. This essential writing has had a profound impact on readers throughout the entire planet. Isaac Shapiro, like Gangaji, had a powerful illumination, while sitting with Papaji in India. He was instructed by his teacher to hold satsang throughout the world in service to Truth. While residing in Australia, Isaac has a busy schedule which includes traversing through many countries holding satsang and giving retreats. He usually visits the Bay Area at least once a year. H. W. L. Poonja, or (as he was, and is, affectionately referred to by his devotees) Papaji, was a realized Indian master, who had a profound effect on many Western spiritual seekers. Although he passed from life in 1997, he continues to exert a strong influence on the Western experience of Nonduality through the devotees who teach with his blessing. Ramana Maharshi was one of the greatest Indian sages of the twentieth century. As the teacher of H. W. L. Poonja, he had a significant influence on the wave of spiritual awakening that is currently building in the West. Ramana's principal contribution to spirituality, and to Transpersonal Psychotherapy, is the "method" of Self-Inquiry. George Collins, MA is a graduate of the John F. Kennedy School of Holistic Studies.
